So, what’s the Wordle answer for today’s game #255?
The solution is RUPEE, which is a hard one.
I was just complaining the other day about how easy the past few games had been. Today, however, was anything but, at least for me. I did get it, but only on the final guess and only after spending far too long trying out possible combinations in a desperate hunt for inspiration.
Interestingly, a look at Twitter shows that plenty of people did get it, but that not many people know what it means.
According to Word and Phrase Info, RUPEE is not among the top 60,000 most frequently used terms in the English language, making it the least common word in Wordle recently.
Furthermore, not only is the term unusual in some parts of the world, but it also contains a double E at the end, as well as the least common vowel in the U.
But not common in English isn’t the same as not frequent at all, because rupee is a widely used term in other languages. This is because other countries, notably India and Pakistan, utilize it as their national currency.
