Rebirth Island in Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a “facelift” next week, according to Activision.
On its official Twitter account, Raven Software previewed the upcoming modifications to Call of Duty: Warzone. “Reloaded and Reinforced, next week Rebirth Island gets a facelift,” was all that was said in the tweet’s content. Fans who look closely at the image of Rebirth Island Reinforced’s title card may notice a map that hints at the improvements to come.
One of the more noticeable modifications appears to be the transformation of the security area into a fortress, as well as the presence of a few ships at the docks. But, other than the more obvious differences, what exactly will be new in the update when Call of Duty: Warzone gets its Rebirth Island to upgrade next week remains to be seen. The arrival of the refresh has yet to be announced in terms of a specific time and date.
Since December 2020, when it was released as part of the first season of Black Ops Cold War content, Rebirth Island has been available in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, the island has remained unchanged since its introduction, therefore Rebirth Island Reinforced will be the island’s first major overhaul.
Several Raven Software and Activision Blizzard employees staged a walkout last year after a number of QA employees were laid off despite having been promised full-time jobs. “Activision is deeply committed to the wellbeing of all of our teams, including our QA workforce,” Activision said in a statement in January. Raven’s leadership has held a meeting with its employees to hear their concerns and clarify the company’s overall development investment.”
Later in January, Activision QA staff at Raven Software began the process of organizing a union, with Activision Blizzard being accused of ‘union-busting’ in the interim.
