A classic PlayStation 1 game gets a new feature 24 years later, thanks to PlayStation Plus. PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium will be upgraded with new titles on February 21, including some iconic PlayStation games from the past. For example, Legend of Dragoon, a cult-classic PS1 RPG, is being included in this batch of games, and when it comes out, it will include a new feature, according to a reliable source.
According to True Trophies, a very reputable source for this type of information, the game will have bronze, silver, and gold awards when it is released. There’s no news on whether it will have a platinum trophy, but the source does mention that the trophies may not be complete and available when the game is launched through PS Plus Premium on February 21. In other words, it could be added later.
While this information is reliable, it should be noted that PlayStation has not validated it in any way. This would not be the first PlayStation classic to receive trophy support via PS Plus Premium, and normally when this occurs, it is done quietly, so the silence is not surprising.
Legend of Dragoon was developed by the now-defunct SIE Japan and released by PlayStation in 1999 for the PS1 for the PS1 exclusively. It was never released on other consoles or brought into the present day. When it was released, the game received a Metacritic score of 74 and sold over one million copies. Neither of these facts are very noteworthy, yet the game is increasingly known as a cult-classic RPG from the golden era of RPGs.
“Unveil a fantasy of magnificence, deception, magical combat, and retribution as you join swordsman Dart and his companions to harness the spiritual forces of Dragons and triumph over evil,” reads an official blurb about the game from PlayStation. “Using a unique and innovative tactical combat system, transform into Dragoons and unleash extraordinary powers. Control a wide variety of characters that wield unique weapons and Dragoon attacks powered by the elements in this unforgettable role-playing game.”
